Ludwik Mirabel passed away on September 30, 2012 in Vancouver. Ludwik Mirabel (b. 1917) a medical doctor, belonged to an ever shrinking group of people who knew Janusz Korczak personally. Members of the Janusz Korczak Association have collected a substantial amount of money for the Monument to Irena Sendlerowa which will be erected in the city of Otwock, Poland. The money has been transferred to the Irena Sendlerowa Monument Building Committee account.
